"Untitled"

(Painting Progression) Oil painting on (salvaged) board, 17.5inchx12inch, (30/03/22) Exploring working with different painting surfaces (a grainy, porous texture of wood as opposed to canvas), as well as pushing myself compositionally with backgrounds. The background is still more abstract, showcasing how I developed my skills further in my other works. I am really proud of the lighting in this piece and the soft texture I was able to achieve with paint. This was a painting of someone I knew, and therefore I was also able to practise likeness and work from an original photograph.
